Leighton House

Leighton House
As we were going to Leighton House I was intrigued to meet new people it was my first time at a retirement home. when we got there Koka Rozie told us what to do and when we wandered inside, a lady was there, first I told her why we're here and where we are from. Then we went in, the old people were having tea then we went to find an old person to talk to I was helping an old woman play connect four and then a lady offered me a drink as I was giving an elderly person the coin and was telling her where to put it. It was off to a great start and she won all of the games, but someone beat her, even though she was beat she is still super good. when I went outside their was a ping pong table I ask someone to play and someone did. I started with the ping pong ball and whacked it and it came flying back until my opponent could not whack it back so I won and then I was playing bean bag toss. it was pretty easy because I got fifty points, I was going inside and then I found out that I could have a drink it was the same drink the lady offered me I had some and it was delicious I had some more and then we had to go, it was a fun and interesting, then we went back to school.

As we were going to the turanganui cultural festival I was excited to be on stage and perform, it was my third time doing the kapa haka festival. when I got my ta moko I had my photo taken and when we got on the bus. I found a seat and sat down, excitement struck me we were talking and play games until we got there as we were getting out we said"thanks" to the bus driver and then we got out. everyone was sitting down and then I sat down too. They told us to be respectful and responsible, I was ohoroa and a little bit kawehi but that didn't hold me back I was really tukunga, when we got inside we waited until it was our turn. when we got on stage we started singing and it was going amazing we were incredible and we sang nine song until we were finished. Then we got back in the bus and got back to school.

Marine Reserve

Marine Reserve
As we were driving to Te Tapuwae o rongokako Marine Reserve, I was extremely excited. We were talking and as we got there I was pumped and as we got out of fly's car we were super pumped. First they told us the instructions and we put on our wetsuit. The wetsuit was difficult to get on and pretty uncomfortable but it was fine. As we got our gear on Koka Rozie called out our groups we were going to be in. Then we followed our parent and went on the sand. We were ready to go in the water, but we had to find calm waters so we would not be sucked in to far so we found calm waters and got in I forgot my flippers so I asked someone to get them and I got them on. I put my snorkel on and went under I saw so many fascinating creatures like crab, fish, sea snail and starfish. Also an octopus latched on to me I shook my hand and it did not like it so it swam away. my most favourite sea creature was the moray eel, it was huge with small sharp teeth and a devastating look. when we got out we had some food and then shared what we saw and drove back to school. The end.
